LETTERS: Refused use of the Village hall

I am a 91-year-old pensioner and I have lived at Westbrook Retirement Village for the past 23 years.
Residents of the Village have always been allowed access to the hall and its kitchen if we wanted to have a party. I was most disappointed when the chairlady refused to allow me access to celebrate my 91st birthday with a few friends. I am certain that she was aware that without the use of the hall, I would be unable to have a party.
Fortunately, when the church that I attend – All Saints Ballito – heard of my dilemma, they allowed me to make use of the hall and provided all that was necessary for me to have my party, for which I am truly grateful.
I had a lovely time and the party was enjoyed by all and I would like to thank those who came to celebrate with me. I would like to particularly thank Fr Michael for travelling all the way from Westville and Fr Aaron from Tongaat.
I would also like to say a special thank you to Spar Lifestyle for providing all the cakes.
