LETTERS: One day you will need those libraries

The widespread pursuit of destroying university facilities/infrastructure is happening all over our country, with the aim of forcing university fees to fall. This is because we want to pursue our careers and thereafter be able to survive to this competitive country, with a lot of poverty, inequality and unemployment.
The idea of “fees must fall” is an absolutely good idea, but the approach may not be good. There are other strategies that can be applied to express your unhappiness.
This democracy is what our forefathers fought for, so that I can study at university, a democracy that I can express my view without violence, a democracy that I can obey the constitution of this country. I doubt that Hector Peterson, Solomon Mahlangu, Adrew Zondo, Bantu Biko, Preeva Khumalo, Bonga Zungu or Cebo Mfekaye would be happy with this situation.
Dear fellow South Africans, my humble request is that any unsatisfactory matter can be discussed and addressed without destroying property. The library that you are destroying you will deeply need once your dissatisfaction has been addressed. The road that you are vandalising you will also deeply need once your concerns are heard. Bear in mind that you will also one day be leaders in this country. Even in our local wards, destroying the hall/roads/offices because of unhappiness will not solve the problem.
