LETTERS: #Traffic lights must fall

It was good to read your Two Bits with regards to circles in Ballito (Courier, October 21).
Some years ago I wrote a letter to you suggesting roundabouts not only to prevent speeding but also to save fuel and time, time waiting for lights to change, and while waiting burning fuel. Circles do not need electricity.
Has anyone noticed how many cars come into Ballito off the N2, especially during the day? And yet driving west are stopped for 43 seconds. A circle will not only slow speedsters but traffic will move. Compare traffic flows at two of the busiest circles, at Lifestyle and BP garage! Even at Umhlali with its flowerpot holes. Most motorists respect circles, even use their indicators to show their intent.
Traffic lights must fall.
