Letters: Please fix this taxi strike

We are facing a very difficult time. Multiple taxi owners in the KwaDukuza Taxi Association have decided to call their taxis off duty.
Many say that the reason for this strike is the bad management and decision making taken by the chairman of the association. Although I may not be too sure about this, one thing I am sure about is the fact that our children are suffering greatly due to this strike. The children in high school, including matriculants are writing their final exams right now and they are finding it very hard to reach school on time as there are only a few taxis working.
This is disturbing the way our community is run. I plead with the minister of transport, the Mayor, the taxi association and the chairman to look quickly into this matter before it even results in violence. We all know that there has been plenty of violence in the past.
Let us try and keep our children and families safe. Let us try and help our children to finish the year on a good note and keep them safe at the same time. Hope this message gets to the right people in good time. Lord be with us all.
