Letter: Take care these holidays

I would like to thank all the citizens of Ward 58 eThekwini who have placed their trust in me to improve our area. There has been an appreciable swing away from the politics of poor service delivery and corruption. Whilst we uncover a culture of patronage and deceit, we are instituting procedures to make local government open and honest.
We are pleased that residents and officials have come forward to assist with cleaning up the administration. Clean governance relies on everyone keeping a watchful eye on how the city operates.
Please enjoy all our facilities and look after them. Be especially careful on our north coast beaches, the rips are strong, so only swim where there are lifeguards.
Also, take care on our roads as pedestrians, in the festive spirit, sometimes lurch into the road.
Celebrate the Christmas holidays – don’t drink and drive/swim, and we look forward to seeing you back next year!
