I am angered by the selling of the Recreational Sports Centre to businessman Vivian Reddy!
The people of KwaDukuza were not consulted in the municipality’s decision to construct a mall on the centre grounds. People enjoy playing sports and using these facilities, especially on weekends. How can the municipality take away the centre that has been in KwaDukuza for generations and what alternative venues will it provide for sport?
It is also the venue for the annual Winter Fair hosted by Stanger Child Welfare. Another concern is that the mall will be located near two primary and two secondary schools which will be a distraction and a bad influence on the students. KwaDukuza does not need another mall. Instead of selling the centre, the municipality should have upgraded and wmaintained the facilities of the centre. The municipality has not acted in the interests of the citizens of KwaDukuza!
