Letters: Has the rainbow nation’s colour leaked?

In response to the article ‘Dating across the racial divide’ (Courier, January 27), the statement that caught my eye was ‘Old prejudices die hard’.
I find that this statement is very accurate in relation to the amount of prejudice and racism still found in South Africa.
This article is about prejudice against multi-racial relationships. From my experience prejudice and racism still exist and I desire change.
In the words of Nelson Mandela ‘strength lies in unity’. We as South Africans should start to accept the fact. We as a country are made up of many races and cultures. Cultures and races should not be compared. Embrace the rainbow nation.
Everyone has the right to equality and so this should be practiced. It has been over 20 years since apartheid ended and yet there are people still living in the past. So, I encourage all South Africans to be the change they want to see in the world.
Let us all confront prejudice and racism not only in South Africa but in the world.
