Having just read the article in the paper on the gentleman who has containers stacked in his yard in order to construct a container home (‘Container house must go’ – residents, Courier February 10), I am totally gobsmacked how selfish and pathetic his
neighbours are
being, complaining because they believe that their homes are going to devalued.
Do yourselves a favour and go and look at container homes, as they are modern and beautiful. If this gentleman chooses to build his house out of containers as so many have done, what right do they have to judge him or complain? These are beautifully built homes and when seeing these homes, one would never believe that they were built using containers. These homes are big in America and in parts of Europe.
So I say to these people complaining, stop and have a look on the internet how beautiful these homes are. Are you a bit frightened that this home that is going to be built using containers may put your home to shame in looks and style?
If he decided to put up a RDP house, then you may have reason to complain.
In my eyes, you are all acting in a selfish manner. What right do you have to decide what type of home this man may build for himself and his family? You all need to grow up.
To the gentleman planning the container home, you go with what you want, as I know neighbours will be very embarrassed once your beautiful home is complete.
