In response to the letter “Radio Station is ‘racist’ (Courier, February 10), in my opinion the views expressed in this particular letter are tantamount to hate speech. The writer is clearly expressing his/her hatred for two particular groups of people.
The baseless irony resonates all through this letter.
It is quite clear, when entering any competition, the odds of losing are much greater. There can be only one winner at any particular time. Entering any competition is equivalent or, if not, very similar to gambling. It is merely a chance one takes. Anything based on chance can never be definite.
It is absurd to suggest that the show producers must choose at least one listener from each race group. This makes no sense as it defies the very essence of any competition.
One should learn to stop playing the “Blame Game” each time something does not work in one’s favour. I strongly suggest that the writer familiarises him/herself with the term, “Candidates are chosen randomly”.
