Letters: Creative thinking for mall

Reading the letter “Move the taxi rank to the mall roof” (Courier February 10) regarding Ballito Bay Mall, I would like to add some further food for thought. The taxi rank could be given the basement parking area which already has a working car wash and a section for minor repairs could be added.
With a good lighting upgrade, added ventilation, some clever interior decoration and space for informal traders this could be the best taxi rank in the country. The access road to this area will have to be widened.
The middle floor should be set aside for shopping and some good fast food outlets. To assist with the debacle of our present municipal offices I would dedicate the entire top floor to the KwaDukuza municipality, to house all departments under one roof, i.e. municipal offices, building inspectors, building plan submissions, traffic police, motor licencing, home affairs, clinic, electricity and a top-class SAP office.
I would also allow space for a nice affordable large coffee shop to relax while you wait. Again, this could be the best municipal offices in the country.
