Letters: Take your rubbish home

I have been living on the North Coast for over 60 years and frequently travel up and down the roads. It appals me to see the rubbish on the sides of the road.
I have often travelled behind a car and have witnessed someone chucking something out of the window when it lands on the roadside, or sometimes hits my car. There are so many people out of work in this country. Surely some of these people would be employed by picking up this dirt and placing it in black bin bags, to then be collected by waste removal people?
Through some of the towns, you often see notices “Keep our town clean”, but these notices seem to be ignored by so many people. I hope this letter will be read by many of these people who will dispose of their rubbish in their own houses.
