Letters: Enthusiastic response

So much has happened since my letter was printed in the North Coast Courier last week (Appeal for Knysna animals, Courier, June 16). So many of you have truly touched my heart.
Your unselfish and enthusiastic response to the appeal has been amazing, and I want to publicly thank each and every one of you. I have chatted to some of you on the telephone, others have simply read the request, rolled up their sleeves, and dived in to help, boots and all, and some I have met. Thank you from the very depths of my heart.
There is still a need in Knysna, as many pets are reported missing, people are now homeless and unemployed, and will not have the means to care for their pets any longer, and the local SPCA branches are simply struggling to cope.
Perhaps there are some of you that wanted to respond but, for different reasons, could not. Well, the good news is we need you, and there is still time as the drive is ongoing. Drop-off points are at: Aloe Vet, Mersat, Mo-Zam-Bik Restaurant and Ballito Vet, or you can contact me on 0740404777.
Lastly, kudos to our local newspaper, The North Coast Courier. Without their assistance, none of this would have been possible.
