Letter: Register to vote before it’s too late

The IEC has confirmed that those without addresses on the Voters Roll will be unable to vote in the 2019 Provincial Elections

Although they seem a long way off, elections will be upon us before we know it.

We have already passed the middle of July and in the blink of an eye, we will be ushering in another holiday season!

The IEC has confirmed that those without addresses on the Voters Roll will be unable to vote in the 2019 Provincial Elections.

Based on the voters roll from the 2017 municipal elections, a staggering 18% of voters in Ward 6 DO NOT have addresses on the current voters roll.

We have arranged for IEC officials to be at the Ballito library on July 25 from 4 to 6pm to assist voters who would like to check their registration details, re-register, or register for the first time.

This is an open invitation to all voters. I hope to see a large turnout and look forward to assisting you in anyway I can. Should you have any queries, please feel free to contact me.

TAMMY COLLEY, DA Councillor Ballito
