I recently acquired a small scooter and being a law-abiding citizen I was extraordinarily keen to source a valid licence (I do have a license to drive a car).
Unable to reach KwaDukuza Municipality telephonically as the number appearing on the monthly statements, namely 032 4375500, is patently incorrect, I searched the internet to establish what process I should follow . . . alas.
So we set off for the licensing department in Stanger, something of an adventure as the road/bridge outside the department is being replaced necessitating a 300m walking detour!
I was greeted by a less than enthusiastic lady who said I could indeed apply for a date to ‘sit my learner’s exam’, but not today as the municipality had run out of application forms.
Rather bizarrely nobody offered any insight as to when the forms would be received.
Maybe ‘smoke signals’ will alert me here in Umhlali to the arrival of the forms?
