Some politicians use their followers’ level of ignorance to survive in the cut throat world of politics.
Many theories have been fed to people about their leaders being victims of all sorts of nonsense. Take the vote of no confidence in the president – people were on the streets for all sorts of scary reasons.
Some were saying it was a coup, others came out to ‘defend’ the president from so called ‘white monopoly capital’ etc.
The scary part was that people feel the need to defend comfortable politicians out of misguided loyalty and ignorance.
Politicians make wrong choices then rely on the support of sometimes gullible poor followers who see their leaders as victims of conspiracy theories.
When you read the manifestos of most political parties they say nothing about ‘defending’ individuals, but stress defending policies and principles.
