Letter of the week: Desperately need schools

The lack of government schools is also discouraging families from coming to settle in Ballito.

I don’t think Ballito will ever reach its full potential until the Education Department builds a primary and high school in the area.

Umhlali Preparatory is completely full for years to come and so is Shakaskraal Primary. I know of families who are leaving Ballito because they have young children and can’t afford to send them to the many private schools in the area.

The lack of government schools is also discouraging families from coming to settle in Ballito. There is so much vacant ground north of the N2 Highway that the department could purchase.
