Letter: Underpass is really needed

Surely it would benefit Ballito Junction and Lifestyle centre to have an opening under Ballito Drive?

The new developed Ballito Junction must be congratulated for their achievement, but why has nothing been done for pedestrians?

Only the original staircase (from the M4/P435 intersection) is still available at the east side.

The taxi rank has been moved to the west side.

Pedestrians have to go along the motorways. Surely it would benefit Ballito Junction and Lifestyle centre to have an opening under Ballito Drive?

If it was possible for Ashton International College to make an opening below the M4, towards the newly developed sports ground, it cannot be such a problem to make an opening between Ballito Junction and Lifestyle Centre under Ballito Drive.

It is a case of ‘just do it’.

This should have been thought of originally when the development of Ballito Drive started.

That means bad planning, nothing else.

If memory serves the M4 underpass was there long before Ashton. But your point is a good one – Editor
