Have you ever really wondered what it would be like to volunteer, but just haven’t quite known where to start? If you feel like paying it forward, read on.
We need more volunteers to help us run the Shine Literacy Hour at Waterloo Primary School, which is a 20 minute drive from Ballito.
Our volunteers give support to children in Grades Two and Three to help strengthen their English reading, writing and speaking skills. No previous experience is needed – you will receive training and ongoing support.
All you need is a love of children and a spare hour or two a week!

We are in our seventh year and with our more than 60 regular volunteers, we make a huge difference to many children.
Besides the good results, it is the pure innocence of these children who are so keen to learn and relish the individual attention.
With many books and wonderful word games, as well as phonic aides, we turn each hour into a fun-filled precious time between volunteer and child.
The benefits are reciprocal and Ubuntu is experienced by all.
Come along to our Orientation workshop on Tuesday, February 6 from 9 am – 11.30am at Garden Court Umhlanga (Umfolozi Room), corner of Aurora and Centenary Boulevard, uMhlanga Ridge.
