Can anyone tell me who is responsible for the upkeep of the M4 route from Ballito to Durban? Is it SANRAL or the Durban Municipality or a combination of both?
Travelling from the uThongathi Bridge right up to Umhlanga I have watched the ever-encroaching vegetation on both sides of the road! So much so that in certain places the road is rapidly becoming a single lane highway!
Surely with all the unemployment and so many job seekers around it is a wonderful opportunity to get a team together and have them cut this bush back a meter or two on either side then get a contractor to cart away the debris?
When as a law abiding, tax paying motorist I see the ever-continuing saga on the N2 at the Umhlali and Umvoti Bridges and added to this the narrowing of our M4, I feel why should I pay motor vehicle taxes and toll fees when not a cent is being spent on road maintenance?
Someone MUST be held responsible.
Just as a passing shot, I see that our Ballito town fathers have resurfaced the stretch of road running past the new town offices! Is this to make an impression when they have their official “opening party”?
