Beauty Review – Salon Amika

Amika has had her salon there for 14 years now doing beauty treatments, massages, nails and laser.

This month I ventured off to Salk Rock to experience the Filorga peel at Salon Amika.

Amika has had her salon there for 14 years now doing beauty treatments, massages, nails and laser.

After a brief chat with Amika, she recommended the Filorga Glyko chemical peel to erase marks that are anchored on my skin.

Once the skin is prepped, the peel is applied. It prickles your skin, feeling like a million ants biting you but it is quick; only staying on the skin for two minutes and then your skin gets neutralised.

Although the peel process only takes 15 minutes, Amika pampers her clients with a full facial that includes exfoliation, extraction and a mask. If that is not enough to get you relaxed, she even gives you an amazing neck massage while your mask is on.

I was so relaxed I fell asleep.

The fresh scent in the air and the music calms your senses and leaves you feeling peaceful. After my facial I was able to go back to work, even with no makeup on as my skin already just looked so revitalized and toned. Putting make up on over the next couple of days was so easy as my skin texture was so smooth. I think this treatment would be quite nice to add to my beauty regime.

The full treatment including the peel is only R395 for 45 minutes.

Stand outs:

  • Prices are some of the best I’ve seen in Ballito.
  • No side effects after treatment (ie. no peeling or redness).
  • One-on-one attention from Amika.
  • Booking my treatment was simple.
