MNCEDISI MKHATHI of Sibiya writes: My condolences to the family of South Africa for losing their mother, Winnie Madikizela Mandela, and in praise of her dedication and selflessness in serving the people of this country.
She fought against the brutal apartheid regime and her dedication to the ANC was noticed even outside the country.
She survived torture by the apartheid government in order for me to have a democracy. Therefore, I have learned from her to believe that the ANC is the mother of democracy in this country.
May her soul join the likes of Mother Nokukhanya Luthuli, Mother Adelaide Tambo, Mother Albertina Sisulu and our own Nomfundo Mkhuzo at V2 Sibiya Branch.
These mothers laid a foundation for us to drive democracy through land expropriation without compensation, radical economic transformation and free quality education to correct the imbalances of the past.
It is time for the ANC to speed up those resolutions.
Long live the spirit of Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, long live!
