In response to Anwar Syed’s letter (“I am a believer”, April 6) the fundamental core of being a believer in Christ Jesus is believing that He is God’s only begotten son who died on the cross for us and that his blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins.
Abraham, Moses and many others point to Christ, prophecy after prophecy point to the cross.
God is not pleased with animal sacrifice and, as you say, it’s the repentant heart that he wants but man has failed on his own effort.
Adam failed and God covered him with the blood of animal skins.
As believers we are now covered with Christ’s blood and it is this blood covering that brings man back into union with our creator.
Why the blood – only God knows – but this we do know that the life is in the blood and blood holds all the information about your state of health, physically and spiritually.
