Early on Sunday we decided to walk along the promenade in Ballito.
As evening fell, and it got dark we were shocked that at least 50% of the lights along the pathway did not work.
Heading back South towards Salmon Bay, there did not appear to be any lights after Hops and we therefore decided to head up to Edward Place as an option, but there were no street lights working there either.
The UIP project is handsomely funded by businesses etc. and one would assume that they are responsible for the management of this area.
This being the case, they are not doing their job.
The UIP notifies the municipality of broken streetlights, which is responsible for repairing them. See Page 1 – Editor
