Letter: Sport can change childrens’ lives

Mandela used to love children with his whole heart and if he was still alive he would be turning 100 years.

Thobeka Madikizela of Shakashead writes: As we approach Mandela Day/Mandela’s birthday as South Africans can we do small things to help our community?

Mandela used to love children with his whole heart and if he was still alive he would be turning 100 years.

As a young person and community member I am pleading with you to please help the small boys with soccer kit e.g. soccer balls, soccer shoes and soccer jersey.

These boys are between 12 and 18 years. They are from a rural area in a place called Nyaka in Bizana near Port Edward.

They love sport, especially soccer. If they can get some help it will really change their lives in many ways.

They will enjoy playing soccer more and in turn this will keep them away from bad habits. Any donation will be appreciated even second-hand soccer kits. By giving to someone in need you will increase your blessings.

The Bible says “The hand that gives is more blessed than the hand that accepts”.
