It’s Saturday and I just left Ashton Junior College in Ballito and had to share my excitement about the generosity of the staff and head of Ashlings Early Learning Centre.
Most people take advantage and rest on the weekend, do errands, whatever they want. But 30 teachers from local schools that have been supported by Partners for Possibility gave up their Saturday morning to improve their ability to teach grade R.
Six teachers from Ashton Early Learning Centre and their head, Ms. Holmes, worked with us, gave us hands on opportunities to try activities that can be brought back to our primary schools.
It was informative, fun, and so caring of the staff to provide much needed training for our Grade R staff.
I had so much fun, instead of everyone saying, calm down, go to the naughty corner, I was allowed to be me.
Ashton thank you for your time, caring, and generosity. This is the beginning of much needed support for our teachers in the public schools.
Ashton Staff plan on continuing this training for grade R teachers in June.
