I came to live in Sheffield Beach in February of this year. The road already sported these sink holes which are on the corner of P474 and Summit Road.
We’ve had a couple of downpours which have increased the size of the pot holes considerably, including some undermining.
Someone put some chevron tape attached to plant stems around them! These are now falling down at a drunken angle.
I think the local councillor has brought it to the road department’s attention but to date nothing has been done except for someone to dump a mound of sand in front of the holes so that traffic will hopefully be brought to a halt before falling into said holes.
The narrow road is being made even narrower by these sink holes and should two cars approach one another, one has to give way to the other because of the danger of falling in.
As usual, will it be a case of an accident before something is done?
