Letter: Tiffany’s toilets in a disgusting state

We recently had visitors out from the UK and Australia and decided to spend some time at Tiffany’s beach.

The toilets at the beach are absolutely disgusting, the stench is unbearable, the urinals and toilets are overflowing and the water is ankle deep. Honestly if a child used these facilities he or she would be lucky to come out alive. It is a disgrace.

If memory serves me these toilets where upgraded about a year ago. We want tourists to come to our country yet we cannot even get the basics right. To our (Big Talk No Action) municipality, for once get your act together and do the right thing.

We are working on putting together a consolidated response pertaining to the maintenance issues in the wards located in the south.

We agree the overflow of toilets is a disgrace, however this has come as a result of the public making use of these facilities using foreign objects that cause the blockages.

We request that the community report those found to be doing wrong so that they can be fined accordingly.

We are aware that events are nearing which will bring good business opportunities and can assure you that all these glitches will be mitigated before then.
