In a world often dominated by fear, we have power to choose to: "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts ..." Colossians 3:15

Peace of mind and security is possible, in a world filled with challenges and conflict.

Peace is an essential state of mind, in which we are empowered to become creative at resolving conflict and solving life’s biggest challenges.

The Bible gives us essential keys to peace of mind. This starts with discovering the peace that God has to offer. Finding peace of mind is never obtained by insisting that our circumstances become ideal.

When one has the peace of mind that God provides, it is possible to march through a battlefield, strewn with land mines, and still have inner peace. Whereas, if one lives with inner conflicts, no matter even if seeking to enjoy a holiday on a luxury cruise-liner, one can still have anxiety.

Peace of mind and the sense of security is not something money can buy.

Jesus gives it as a free gift: “I am leaving you with a gift, peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27

Peace of mind is obtained by knowing, that God knows what He is doing, and He is able and willing to “work all things together for the good, for those who love God…” (Romans 8:28)

In a world often dominated by fear, we have power to choose to: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts …” Colossians 3:15

In order to live with inner peace, be encouraged to quickly forgive offences and insults.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said: “For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind.”

This peace of mind we desire does not happen by accident. We have to be intentional about applying our minds to live at peace with others. “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:3.

In other words, peace in any society requires some effort on our part.

Jesus said: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for God shall call them His sons.” Matthew 5:9. For me to create peace, I must have peace within myself.

As we walk through life, we encounter others in a storm, but to be of any help, we cannot allow them to pull us into their storm, we must, by God’s grace, pull them into our peace. This is only possible if we possess our own peace of mind.
