Letter: Delay on repairs

"With reference to the letter "More dangerous steps" (August 7) the director responsible for beaches, Njabulo Ngwane, informed me that there is a plan in place to deal with the ageing beach infrastructure as well upgrades." - Sipho Mkhize.

KwaDukuza municipal media liaison, Sipho Mkhize writes:

With reference to the letter “More dangerous steps” (August 7) the director responsible for beaches, Njabulo Ngwane, informed me that there is a plan in place to deal with the ageing beach infrastructure as well upgrades.

He cited that due to lockdown, selection of necessary service providers has been stalled and it was not possible to provide an answer as to when work at beaches would start, given that they are still treated as closed to the public except in exceptional cases granted by the regulations.
