Letter: Reinvigorated DA after Federal Congress
"On a local level here in the Ilembe District and across all its local municipalities, we as activists (first), supporters and councillors; felt the reinvigoration that emanated from Steenhuisen's maiden speech as DA Federal Leader, from the Tropicana Hotel in Durban." - Cllr Vernon Pillay.

Democratic Alliance Cllr Vernon Pillay writes:
The Democratic Alliance concluded its first ever virtual DA Federal Congress on Sunday with local resident, John Steenhuisen becoming the federal leader.
On a local level here in the Ilembe District and across all its local municipalities, we as activists (first), supporters and councillors; felt the reinvigoration that emanated from Steenhuisen’s maiden speech as DA Federal Leader, from the Tropicana Hotel in Durban.
The emotional ferocity and definiteness of purpose from the leader’s words on Sunday struck a chord as the fire now burns with the mission to save South Africa from corruption, maladministration, lack of service delivery and to steer and sustain a future of respect and prosperity for ALL citizens to enjoy and make a new normal – the DA difference.
His mention of people power (hashtag) was the resonating and defining moment among the watershed moment itself of a KwaZulu-Natal MP voted in as federal leader.
Visceral congratulations to John Steenhuisen and we look forward to working with him and bringing people power, in all its current and future iterations; to all.
