I am getting in touch with regard to the closure and/or re-location of the post-boxes in Ballito village.
My aged mother who does not drive, so relies on people to assist, had a post box there, but does not know what is going on. As the post boxes could have been removed, where is her mail going to?
I understand that other Ballito residents are trying to find out the above, yet, despite their trips up to the post office in the Lifestyle Centre, no-one seems to know, which quite frankly is ridiculous!
It is also crazy that proper notices have not been put in place at the Ballito village post box site and surely the SA Post Office should be doing something in this regard, as well as storing the mail somewhere.
The acting branch manager at Umhlali Post Office, Dhilip Premlall told the Courier in our October 30 article “Post office closure creates confusion”, registered mail and packages may be collected from the Zimbali Post Office at the Lifestyle Centre, and all other post is being held at the Umhlali Post Office.
Premlall said boxes were available for rental at Umhlali.
The post office has not responded to our questions about refunds for existing box-holders – Editor.
