#Letter: Incompetent cadre deployment must be stopped
"To prevent continuing cadre deployment which sees connected and not adequately qualified officials appointed, or the most competent prevented from being appointed, there should be representation from opposition parties on these panels" - Tammy Colley.
DA caucus leader and Ballito resident Tammy Colley writes:
KwaDukuza Municipality currently has vacancies for 2 executive directors and the post of municipal manager.
For the executive director positions, the interview panel is made up of ‘at least three and not more than five members’ according to the regulations set out by SALGA.
The Democratic Alliance and other opposition parties raised concerns regarding the composition of the interview panels for these very senior posts.
To prevent continuing cadre deployment which sees connected and not adequately qualified officials appointed, or the most competent prevented from being appointed, there should be representation from opposition parties on these panels.
