#Letter: Ballito residents prove they are simply the best

"We were at Thompson's Bay when the carer and I were knocked over by a wave" - Carol Lockstone.

Johannesburg resident Carol Lockstone writes:

While on holiday in Ballito, I have experienced the most incredible kindness from complete strangers.

We have been here a week now and every day someone helps us.

It is like serendipity!

I am 80 and holidaying with my cousin – who has dementia – and her carer.

We were at Thompson’s Bay when the carer and I were knocked over by a wave.

She hurt her leg and could not get up.

The lifeguards had already knocked off but strangers quickly came to our assistance.

They even carried her up the Thompson’s Bay steps.

Thank you to Ballito for being such a kind and caring town.

You are so different from Jo’burg.
