#Letter: Some streetlights stay on permanently

"Some light poles were replaced a few months ago and the streetlights worked properly for about 2 months, but thereafter stayed on permanently." - Kelvin Wheeler.

Kelvin Wheeler of Compensation Beach Road writes:

I am not surprised the electricity consumption in our region is so high.

For the past 5 years the street lights along Compensation Beach Road have been either permanently off or permanently on.

Some light poles were replaced a few months ago and the streetlights worked properly for about 2 months, but thereafter stayed on permanently.

I suspect the municipality will push up the consumption costs to cover their shortfall instead of fixing the problem.
