#Letter: Car guard Paul has a golden heart

"Despite having very limited means, Paul gathered together R107 to donate towards the cause" - Jurgen Jacobs.

Small Steps Surfing founder and Ballito resident Jurgen Jacobs writes:

I would like to share a story of extraordinary generosity I witnessed last week.

Paul, one of the car guards at Salt Rock’s main beach, has always been a lovely, kind guy who looks after the kids when down at the beach.

After reading the article about Small Steps’ initiative to upskill underprivileged surfers in the Courier on April 29, he was inspired to contribute.

Despite having very limited means, Paul gathered together R107 to donate towards the cause.

His generosity has touched me in ways I cannot really begin to explain. It was an act of pure goodness.

Thank you so much for your gesture Paul, it means the world.
