#Letter: Shabby response to danger areas

"A shabby support system has also been erected to support water, power, sewage and communications pipes, and please note the big hole near Barrier Road which previously took years to fix" - David William.

David William Thompson of Sheffield Beach writes:

Further to the recent heavy rains inflicted upon KZN, I wish to draw attention to the flood damage along Colwyn Drive, Sheffield Beach.

Several wash away and collapsed areas occurred on the seaward side in the vicinity of the collapsed beach access walkways.

The northern spill away in Colwyn Drive at Sheffield, with another in the south.

Inspection of the verge from Villa Royale access northwards indicates a dangerous situation for vehicles with a threat of collapse and possible injury or even loss of life.

No warning signs are present to advise motorists of the danger.

A shabby support system has also been erected to support water, power, sewage and communications pipes, and please note the big hole near Barrier Road which previously took years to fix.
