#ReportBack: Illegal dumping getting out of control

"Residents have been forced to clean up the mess themselves and one recently had to be hospitalised after becoming sick" - Nerish Singh.

Democratic Alliance KwaDukuza PR councillor Nerish Singh writes:

With calls from residents about illegal dumping on the rise, I invited KwaDukuza municipal officials to an oversight visit last week.

The problems have mostly been in Northlands and Sunny Park in ward 16.

Dumping is becoming completely out of control with waste items, including adult diapers and medical waste, being discarded in the open.

Residents have been forced to clean up the mess themselves and one recently had to be hospitalised after becoming sick.

We are aware that residents from the surrounding areas are causing the problem.

Affected residents are advised to report illegal dumping by taking photographs and contacting KDM at 032 946 800 or 032 437 5000.
