#Letter: Townsend Park is not for sale

"If we are to build a healthy community we, you included, need to move away from divisive rhetoric and look forward to building a society with a common vision of decency and respect for all" - Malcolm Kensett.

Malcolm Kensett of Ballito writes:

Ashraf, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Your response to Ken Lever on Townsend Park is a sad indication that you still see things with an old paradigm and are stuck in the past.

If we are to build a healthy community we, you included, need to move away from divisive rhetoric and look forward to building a society with a common vision of decency and respect for all.

This can begin by you and KDM respecting the wishes of local ratepayers and by protecting our existing open spaces and green belts. Townsend Park is not for sale or rezoning.

And, as a reminder, it has been made clear many times by many people, all faiths are welcome in Ballito. If you want to build a mosque, church, or temple, there are plenty options available, but Townsend Park is not one of them.
