iLembe Democratic Alliance caucus leader, Krsna Sing, writes:
It was a tough year for everyone.
The devastating floods crippled our infrastructure, mostly relating to roads, bridges and water provision.
Very slow or no progress was made during the subsequent six months of rehabilitation.
Our economy is moving at a snail’s pace with unemployment on the rise.
Loadshedding has become a nightmare and is getting worse.
No immediate solutions are in sight to address the issues compromising our quality of life.
What we are observing is the mismanagement of resources meant for service delivery.
Corruption and greed has become a monster that will swallow and destroy good governance.
Households will have to plan budgets wisely and cut the frills as we ready ourselves for 2023 – another tough year with tough choices.
Despite all the gloom, I wish all a blessed Christmas and hopefully a prosperous new year.
