#Letter: Acting on behalf of residents

"It is the role of Docrra to be vigilant and act on the failures of our administrators and councillors to ensure that legal processes are followed, and to protect the interests of the broader community" - Deon Viljoen.

Dolphin Coast Residents & Ratepayers Association chairman Deon Viljoen writes:

I would like to comment on the letter from Mr Kruger in the Courier last week regarding the Townsend Park issue.

A few minutes of further research on the Docrra website would have informed him that the Townsend Park issue has nothing to do with race or religion, or how Docrra is managed.

It has to do with the unprocedural process and illegal attempt to sell immovable municipal assets for use of any kind. Even worse, in this case, a park area and forest being used by everyone in our community.

It is the role of Docrra to be vigilant and act on the failures of our administrators and councillors to ensure that legal processes are followed, and to protect the interests of the broader community.

Mr Kruger is welcome to contact me at admin@docrra.co.za if he needs access to more facts or information on this issue or the role and makeup of Docrra.
