Ward 22 Councillor Privi Makhan writes:
The aesthetic appeal of a community is one of the many factors that drives economic growth for the greater area.
Partnerships and alignment from stakeholders is therefore a critical cog.
Historically, the Tiffany beach node, or granny’s pool in Salt Rock was often referred to as Salt Rock’s secondary beach.
This is no longer the case, as the greater community are frequenting this node with much enthusiasm, making it a highly popular spot.
The recent community-funded upgrade of the ablution block, managed by Jemstruct, and the addictive aroma of Bench Coffee add to the overall appeal of this spot.
Last week Dolphin Coast Mini Skips and the Ballito Sweepers got stuck in and gave the area an overhaul.
This included the removal of debris and soil deposits, the repositioning of bollards and a general clean-up of the entire precinct.
Community is not just about being geographically close to someone or part of the same social network – it’s about feeling connected and responsible.
These local businesses emulate this.
