#Letter: Unite against toll fees

"There is no alternative road to use while we have to endure this inconvenience, so please let's get together and agree only to start paying once this repair has been completed and the road safe to use" - Gaydene Eastwood.

Gaydene Eastwood of Tinley Manor writes:

With regards to Sanral’s proposed reintroduction of toll fees, one wonders if they are aware of the disruptions motorists have to endure on a daily base with traffic delays, accidents, massive trucks and so on.

The last roadworks we went through we paid toll fees every time we used the N2 and had to endure very dangerous situations with many bad accidents and even deaths. But while we the public were paying, Sanral was in no hurry to get that completed as they were receiving our money every time we went through the collection points.

The contractors who were awarded this section of repairs said it would be completed in four months. As a matter of interest, we are into our second month – are they still on track with the four-month timeframe?

There is no alternative road to use while we have to endure this inconvenience, so please let’s get together and agree only to start paying once this repair has been completed and the road safe to use.
