#Letter: Return to creative writing on the horizon

"You might understand that a diet of hospital food was the cause of acute sense of humour failure" - Bruce Stephenson.

Bruce Stephenson of Sheffield writes:

Thank you Olivia Roels-Sak for your kind comments about my Two Bits column (Callback for inspiring columns, Letters, March 24).

I spent a lot of last year in hospital, for which I blame my misspent but thoroughly enjoyable youth.

You might understand that a diet of hospital food was the cause of acute sense of humour failure.

Though I now realise that the best investment I ever made was in a medical aid fund.

I am now well on the way to recovery, with the help of Rose, my family and our many friends in this wonderful community, and hope to return to writing soon.
