#Letter: Water wasted by lack of repairs

"We are not getting value for money on our taxes and tariffs if simple repairs cannot be properly managed" - Nerish Singh.

KwaDukuza Democratic Alliance PR Councillor, Nerish Singh writes:

Major water leaks across KwaDukuza are not being timeously seen to by the iLembe District Municipality.

This is leading to damaged roads and infrastructure, while clean water is also being wasted.

In Ward 16, one leak has not been repaired since it was reported on May 10, one can only imagine the amount of water lost.

When repairs are done, they often have to be redone multiple times because of poor workmanship or materials.

We are not getting value for money on our taxes and tariffs if simple repairs cannot be properly managed.

Residents end up having to pay the cost when their vehicles are damaged by broken roads or potholes.
