#Opinion: A surprisingly quiet Easter weekend on the North Coast? Residents share their thoughts

Locals in the tourism industry describe their most recent festive season experience.

With the Easter weekend behind us, we asked our readers how the North Coast measured up this Easter weekend. Was it as busy as previous years and were the beaches well controlled? Here’s what they had to say:

Karen Landman – Not busy at all. Last year this time we had almost double the bookings we have now in holiday apartments. Some of the restaurants also said they were very quiet during the past long weekend.

Logan Reddy – Very quiet. Holiday makers staying away from Ballito due to issues with electricity and other infrastructure issues which KDM has failed to resolve.

Ayanda Hlanti – KDM employees not cleaning the bathrooms and change rooms is disgusting, only busy on their phones no care in the world. Clarke Bay and Willard beach are a shame.

Desiree Bünger – It is extremely quiet in the hospitality industry at the moment.

Debra Greeff – I thought it was rather quiet, not busy at all.

Jeffrey Khumalo – Not as busy as last year, maybe visitors were scared to come stay due to the long power outages some areas previously experienced.

Cameron Damon- Much quieter than last year!

Heather Rudolph – The previous holidays were busy, so I think a lot of peeps came then and to come back a week and a half later for Easter weekend would be crazy.

Darren Nisbet – Honestly, I stayed away from everything, just kept on working right through.
