Local riders shine at SANESA Nationals

The North Coast was well represented in the KZN team.

The SANESA Nationals recently took part at Kayalami Equestrian Park in Gauteng. The North Coast was well represented in the KZN team that took on riders from across the country in the various classes.
Gwendolyn Isaacs riding Allegro received a place and a team second in the “Working riding” and a team third in the “Performance riding” classes. While riding Mae Lily in the Show jumping she was placed in both classes and received a team first and second. Anne Isaacs, riding Romany, secured a team first in the Working hunter class and sixth place in a class of fifty eight in the Show jumping. Even though she was not feeling well, Sabrina Poppmeier had a fantastic show on her horse Sahara and they received a team second in the Working riding and had super clears in the Show jumping.
A highlight of the show was the team parade, with the KZN team representing Zulu warriors on horseback, followed by riders on ‘zebras’.
