Taekwon-kids go black

Taekwondo students achieve their first Dan Black belt.

Jack Maidman and Daniel Grachev has both officially received their first Dan Black Belt certificates in GTF Taekwondo, under the coaching of Guk-Jae Sabum Nim Vladimir Grachev (master and international instructor).

Jack Maidman moved to Ballito from Johannesburg in 2008 having started karate lessons in Johannesburg at the age of four.

He then joined the Ballito Martial Arts Academy at five-years-old.

Daniel Grachev made his permanent move to South Africa from Kazakstan five years ago, and continued with his Taekwondo training.

The two 12-year-old boys are friends, training partners and classmates at Crawford Prep North Coast.

Under the coaching of Guk-Jae Sabum Nim Vladimir Grachev the two boys participated all through the gradings and competitions, both winning numerous gold medals with sparring and patterns.

They understand that to achieve black belt at such a young age takes a lot of discipline and hard training.

They are the youngest in their class to achieve Black Belt.

It is obvious that the two best friends are passionate about martial arts training and are now aiming for their second Dan Black Belt.
