Groutville Juniors renamed

Coach Junior Jonase has renamed his team, the Talisman Hire Junior Football club.
This, in appreciation of the soccer kit Talisman Plant Hire has donated to the team, previously known as the Groutville Junior Football Club.
Kevin Mackridge and Andrew Cox, directors of Talisman Hire said they were approached by Jonase and had been impressed by his vision for the team.
“Through football, he has been successful in keeping the youth focused, drug free and off the streets,” said Mackridge.
The three year-old team was started by the boys themselves with no direction, just as a way to practise after school.
Jonase joined the team last year and he scouted more players from the teams he had previously coached.
“I started serious coaching with them and they fortunately respected me. The team is now recognised in our area and has gained fans. I am the only one taking care of the team needs, like transport and other cost measures,” said Jonase.
He said the donation was a huge morale booster for his team.
