Perfect drive for charity

The fund-raising event included the launch of the society's Tongaat Fair 2016.

Tongaat Child and Family Welfare Society hosted its Inaugural Golf Day on August 7 at the Maidstone Country Club in Tongaat.

The fund-raising event included the launch of the society’s Tongaat Fair 2016 (from August 31 to September 4 at the Outspan Grounds), and celebrated Women’s month.

Approximately 70 people took part.

The day began with pampering for the women who were given the choice of a treatment which included either facials; head/neck and shoulder massages or a mini manicure and hand massage.

A formal programme followed later in the afternoon including the prizegiving for golfers. A sumptuous meal concluded a great day.

The society’s treasurer, Brian Rajagopal said: “This being the inaugural tournament of the society, you can rest assured there will be many more initiatives of a similar nature that will be undertaken by the society.

“Thanks and appreciation must go out to our major sponsors, Dr Sudeshan Govender and Family and Mediclinic Victoria for their contributions, other sponsors, the staff, patrons and board of management for ensuring the success of the tournament.”
