Singh tweets his way to a Jo’burgh trip
"It was great to meet the presenters and coach as they were down-to-earth characters and chatted to us - it was so relaxed, just like being with friends" - Naren Singh
Competition addict, Naren Singh from Stanger hit the big time when he won a Twitter competition run by SuperSport Phaka and Vodacom for tweeting his comments during the Lions semi-finals.
Singh confessed to being an “all rounder” sports fanatic who is obsessive about competitions.
“I enter everything, but particularly like the competitions where you get a chance to meet the stars. I was one of five people to win this competition,” he said.
“It was quite challenging as I had to tweet a commentary during the Lions semi-final game. I was thrilled to be one of the winners of a LG smart phone and merchandise from Vodacom and SuperSport and I was flown to Johannesburg where Vodacom hosted us at Mash Braai House in Fourways to a live TV screening of the finals. This was a memorable experience as we interacted with SuperSport presenters and other winners together with Springbok assistant coach, Mzwandile Sticks.
“It was great to meet the presenters and coach as they were down-to-earth characters and chatted to us – it was so relaxed, just like being with friends.”
Singh said he and the other winners stayed at Monte Casino.
“I really enjoyed the experience as it is not something one gets to do every day.”
